The Royal Meteorological Society has just published a really nice guide to ‘Careers for Climate’ - it’s full of interesting interviews with people across all disciplines and roles, and helpful tips too.

If you are a beginner, job postings have a lot of interesting information about current groups and active interests and might help you get a feel for what interests you!
In our discord server, we have set up a dedicated channel for vacancies via RSS feed: if you would like to set up a customised jobs email alert for yourself, top tips are using RMetS Jobs, jobs.ac.uk and Indeed. For listings in the renewable energy sector, Rejobs is a great place to look and was set up by a recent OU Environmental Sciences graduate.
📌 Graduate Schemes
- Met Office Careers: Early career entry listings at the Met Office are advertised as Foundation Scientist, and other opportunities include their Graduate Development Scheme and their Operational Meteorologist Foundation Course .
A recent independent report projected that The Met Office will deliver economic benefits worth £56 billion to the UK over the next 10 years!
